We proudly announce the reactivation of the Regional Student Group (RSG) Germany.
Who are we?
We are PhD students coming from different fields, studying in Germany. We are interested in understanding and solving biological question using computational and mathematical approaches. In other words the fields commonly known as, but not limited to: computational biology, bioinformatics or systems biology. We will use the term “computational biology” to refer to all these related fields of study. We, RSG Germany, are part of a large international organization of young researchers with the same interest. The RSG groups around the world are part of the ISCB-Student Council, the student organization of the International Society for Computational Biology.
What do we want?
Our aim is the promotion of computational biology in Germany. To reach this we offer help to bachelor, master and PhD students for networking, finding a lab for their thesis, pointing out interesting conferences and workshops.
In the longterm, we plan to organize symposia or social activities for young computational biologists in Germany.
Annually there is also the an International (ISMB) and a European (ECCB) symposium, organized by the ISCB. The ISCB Student Council organizes a one day symposium preceeding these ISCB symposia focussed on PhD students and young researchers from all around the world.
What do we offer?
We offer you the possibility to get in touch we other students interested in the same topics and questions as you. Talk about your project or learn more about the research done in other parts of Germany. Do you want to be actively involved in the RSG Germany? That is even better. Contact us and let us discuss the possibilities!
So what are you waiting for?
Are you interested in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Systems Biology or related fields of research? And are you a student or PhD student located in Germany? Why not join us?
It is a great opportunity to get in touch with interesting people, increase your network and get informed about conferences, workshops and open positions.
